Garbage

This was the first garbage truck visitation in my new home. I stood there while the guy emptied my trash can. I had a lot of cardboard I wanted to recycle. I would like to save those trees. I asked him hello sir can I recycle all this cardboard? Sure, the garbage guy said. He took the cardboard from my hands and threw it into the back of the truck along with the rest of the trash.

This anecdote has been offered unaccompanied by additional commentary.

Don't you get special bags or containers that you use to stuff recyclable garbage?

We had special containers in my previous apartment complex. Now I don't know how its done. But if they stuff everything from every container into the same back of the truck anyways, I don't see the point of meticulously recycling cans and paper and what not. I have begun to believe that recycling is a big lie propagated by waste management companies.

Look up recycling for your area. If you don't have the special dumpsters for your complex you live in, you might have to drive an extra mile. Usually they have it around ..

Now the question is will my environmentalism triumph over my laziness.

Oh well generally you will have to go to the recycling dept of your county and buy the blue tubs for about $5-$10. Or if you leave it in brown paper grocery bags outside the regular garbage, they pick it up as recycle.

sqrl : I do have a tub that I inherited from the previous owners. What I do not know is whether I can put all my cans, paper and plastic bags in the same tub.
