Something from the archives

The problem with starting a new blog is that when it's new, no one reads it, and if no one reads it, you don't have any motivation to write anything good. So you don't really put any effort into writing and just keep spewing some godawful crap and this causes even less people to visit your blog, thus turning into a vicious cycle.

I have written my share of crap posts when I started blogging. Fortunately, this post wasn't one of them. And I think it deserves more attention than being relegated to the musty confines of my archive.

I read this stuff before. And I thought someone commented on it. But now, I see that there are no comments on the post. Just wondering. And since you are craving for attention, here's some love:
Nice commentary on your learning experience. Did you offer any gurudakshina, like teaching your guru how to eat curd rice?

I guess I probably should have waited a few more years before I posted old stuff. I didn't know what percentage of my current audience has been with me since that time. As to curd rice, I guess even curd rice could be theoretically eaten with chopsticks, yeah?

I also remember you getting mentioned by "Indiauncut" for this piece. A little too early for self pity, now don't you think?

Its never too early for self pity. You know all your life you keep putting it off, you say its too early, I'm still young, I can pity myself later, but you never get to it and then one day before you know it you are 60 and dying of cancer and then you wish you had taken the time and pitied yourself all these years.

The post you linked to - I hate chopsticks, I'd have eaten with my fingers if they didn't give me a fork and spoon.

The first para of this post is sort of cautionary for someone like me. I might as well give up.

I have a new blog, and I am putting out crap stuff (at an Indian passenger versus Japanese Bullet train pace - compared to your output, I might add).

I hope to break the cycle by linking to and thereby stroking the ego of blog-celebrities like you. Do visit me. (shameless plug and all that)

As one of the head honchos of Indian-blogosphere might say ' fun will happen' (hopefully).

PS - I excerpted portions of this post - hope thats okay - if not I will remove it.
