Someday I hope to achieve such immense blog-popularity that the first comment for every post I publish will unfailingly be a celebratory one from someone relieved to be the first to comment on that post.
But this doesn't mean you need to do that for this post out of pity. I will not accept pity under any circumstances, except when it is tendered in cash form.

This comment if out of pity for the person who commented first here. (what with comment moderation, I bet there were tens and thousands before me celebrating thinking they were the first here)

I demand an explanation to this!!!! Why is my comment the first? If there wasn't any, couldn't you have made one up or atleast checked my spellings?
I am too unpopular to already have had a first comment. But this only illustrates the long way I still have to go when having the first comment on my post stops being an ignominy and starts being a cause for celebration.
Aaah... Yes!! I am the first commentor. Ok, you will say that the person who commented earlier is the first person, but no, I am the first person to comment on this post! Yipee!
Hmmm, did you ever think what would happen if every commentor here thinks that he (or she or they) thinks that it is the first comment on the post? Or you turned on comment moderation? Ok wait you have it turned on. Ok. mebbe if you did not approve comments for days!

One day you may get a "first!" comment from a bot primarily designed to detect new posts in blogs and comment with "first!".
Oh, this is hilarious! More so cos I just came from a blog where every first comment to the last few posts was "yay! I'm the first to comment!"
