Anyone with a degree or at least a working knowledge of South Indian scripts, go here please and tell me what is being said. And don't be coy if it's a whole bunch of brickbatting. Let me have it.
Gawker: Yo.... Actually it is a tongue and cheek reference to your "surprise" at seeing the cleanliness at the railway station.
He says "People in our country are doing all sorts of things with their blogs. Coincidentally we used our sniffer dogs this morning to find that this man from Philadelphia - Half Indian it seems and we have enquire which half, top or the bottom, is exactly Indian - approximately came to our blog. His eyes fell upon this picture taken at our heaven"
Heaven here refers to his hometown of Mayavaram (official name being Mayiladuthurai), which btw is represented in the Lok Sabha by the Honorable Mani Shankar Iyer and his url translates "native of Mayavaram".
He continues...
"The aforementioned person has mentioned this on his blog"
(*quote from your post follows...*)
He then says, via the blue text at the bottom of the post
"We are the people who pay for platform tickets even to take a peek at the trains."
Ah thank you blogger formerly known as anti. My consternation arose from seeing one of the commenters on that thread who said "It feels disgusting. I really feel sorry for whatever happened to you." I was therefore curious to know if I was the cause of abovementioned feeling of disgust.
I think a lot of the discussion is because the subject of the post (i.e. your reference to the picture) was considered by some people inane and at least one of the commentors wondered if it was important enough to merit the post. And there is one commentor who finds fault with the title which is a colloquial term for incestous sex (from my limited understanding), but it's very commonly used in Southern TN, quite similar to the use of "fuck" and "shit" here. But you know what, my lunch time reading shall include this post and all the comments. My Tam reading (not my speaking/understanding though) skills suck, particularly on screen and so it will take some time for me to read it completely. Shall do so and tell you, unless someone else does it before me.

Although I agree with these people, I am also simultaneously grateful that my own commenters aren't so discriminating. But maybe the native of mayavaram has raised the bar for himself too high, a problem as I have pointed out earlier, is one that many bloggers unnecessarily subject themselves to by maintaining consistently high standards of blogging excellence that we, here at this blog, we being I, do not.
And yes you should read it through especially if it will help you brush up on your tamil.
okie.. much of the discussion involves a particular Google search term that has landed 17 visitors on his blog, a term which I guess (because it is only mentioned in a tangential manner) refers to a sexual organ :D And thats why one commentor has expressed "disgust"..lol..
Hmm. Lived in Pune. And went to school that taught German as a third language. Hmm. Now I am really curious as to which school near Nal Stop/Karve road does that! Is the school in Model Colony?

It's times like these when I wish my high school had offered tamil instead of german as a 3rd language course.

Gawker, I usually don't do this, but only because you asked -- the blog you linked to mentioned something really rotten about your blog's mother.
